The orbital tube shear project perfectly embodies this approach — a system designed to perform in-line cutting at speeds of up to 180 m/min, an outstanding performance for this type of equipment.
Customer objective
The customer needed to develop a completely new prototype, and chose Bergomi S.p.A. as a partner capable of ensuring high manufacturing quality while actively contributing to the definition of technical solutions.
The main challenge concerned the moving components, where extremely tight tolerances were required to guarantee continuous operation and prevent malfunctioning during high-speed cycles.
Execution
The project was completed in seven months, involving all the main internal departments of Bergomi S.p.A.:
- Heavy fabrication and welding
- Precision machining
- Industrial painting
- Assembly and on-board system installation
- Final testing and commissioning
Result
Thanks to the close synergy between the technical office and production teams, a complex concept was transformed into a high-performance machine.
